We all know blogging is an ultra-important asset to your business when it comes to building traffic and reputation. The hidden dark side, though, is how hard it is coming up with topics that will give you that ultra-good traffic. If you’ve hit a roadblock when it comes to the content on your blog, don’t sweat it. An age-old question between marketers is “What do you blog about?“. It can quickly feel like your company has blogged about everything under the sun. To help, we polled fellow HubSpotters — who know a thing or two about blogging — and we’ve created a list of 101 ideas to keep your queue […]
After nearly a year of testing ads in News Feed and Marketplace search results, Facebook is rolling out search ad placement more broadly to all advertisers. The ads will appear in results for search terms that have commercial intent, such as searches for commercial products connected to the e-commerce, retail or auto vertical. Currently, search ad placement is available on mobile only. “Testing shows that advertisers and people are finding value in ads in search results, so we’re rolling out these ads more broadly,” said Facebook Director of Product Management Nipoon Malhatra. To have ads appear in search results, advertisers can either select “Automatic Placement” for their News Feed ads, […]
The industry has a new association – the Paid Search Association – which formally launched yesterday. It describes itself as “the first association focused exclusively on the paid-search industry.” A mature industry. Upon first glance, it’s a somewhat surprising development given that marketers are increasingly seeking to overcome organizational silos and coordinate campaigns across channels. In addition, paid search is the most successful digital channel by revenue (across mobile and desktop) and quite mature compared to other channels and tactics. Therefore, one would think education about the medium is less necessary or even altogether unnecessary at this point. PSA’s inaugural president is David Szetela, the CEO of FMB Media. Founding board members […]

As a finalist for the Google Premier Partner awards, I recently had the chance to visit Google’s campus in NYC. There, I spoke to a Googler about the state of agencies and he lamented the fact that a large wave of PPC agencies that got their start during the last economic downturn in 2008 are still managing accounts like they did 10 years ago… hardly a strategy for success when we might be on the verge of another economic slowdown. Considering how much Google Ads has changed in the past decade, it stands to reason that successful account management should also have evolved dramatically. My friend and industry pioneer Andrew […]

(by conv. time) What the columns reflect. The standard conversion column data reports conversions based on the time of the ad click. If a user clicks on an ad on Monday and converts on the site on Thursday, the Conversions column will record that sale for Monday. […]
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg this week presented an impassioned speech about his views on the role that social media is now playing in society – and in particular, how Facebook, and other platforms, are influencing political outcomes, and if/what they should do about it. Facebook has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks over its decision to exempt political ads from its rules against advertising which contains “deceptive, false or misleading content”. This came after the team for US Presidential candidate Joe Biden saw their appeal against an ad campaign run by US President Donald Trump, which included unproven claims about Biden’s speculated Ukranian connections, rejected by Facebook. In response […]
