Google is opening up more inventory to standard Shopping campaigns. Product Shopping and Showcase Shopping ads will be eligible to show on Gmail — as well as YouTube and Discover feed — starting the week of March 4 when those campaigns are opted into the Display Network, Google announced Thursday. Google had already extended Showcase Shopping ads to Discover and YouTube last year. Until now, Smart Shopping campaigns were the only way to get Shopping ads on Gmail. How to enable. In the early goings of Amazon’s advertising platform, most advertisers looked to it as another source of ad inventory that should be focused on direct response. This is in large part due to Sponsored Products typically being the first format brands wade into, and that format produced a whopping 13% conversion rate for the median advertiser under Tinuiti (my employer) management in Q4 2019. As such, it’s safe to say that Amazon ads are certainly a strong avenue for driving orders and sales. However, it’s no longer the case that Amazon advertisers are focused entirely on direct response goals, and marketers should be looking at the brand-building potential across both […]

Immediately, I looked at the pictures, and then the reviews. Finally, I went to the website to look over the menu. One place didn’t appear to be too nice, although it had some good reviews. […]

Google Maps is probably the company’s second most important product after Search. One of the more remarkable things about it is: a $63 billion company like Uber would probably not be possible without it. Refreshed app, new features. There’s also the fact that Google Maps has more than one billion monthly active users and can deliver turn-by-turn navigation almost anywhere in the world. Celebrating its 15th anniversary this week, Google introduced a refreshed version of app for Android and iOS with some new features: There are now five (not three) tabs at the bottom of the map screen: Explore, Commute, Saved, Contribute (photos, reviews, content), Updates (feed of recommended places). Snowflake is one company that understands this connection. Let’s see how their post-click experiences are consistent and relevant to their pre-click experiences. How Snowflake uses segmented ads and post-click experiences Example 1: “Cloud data warehouse” Google search Someone towards the […]
When I was younger, my dream was to open a cheese store with my family. My mom, brother, sister, and I — we’re all obsessed with cheese. So anytime I see a cheese store, I’ll go in and sample everything … for research, obviously. Although I’d never thought about it this way before, I was already thinking in terms of market intelligence and market research (two different concepts … more on that below).
