Google is starting to offer Google Guaranteed certification for a monthly fee, outside of Local Services Ads. It’s positioned as an “upgraded profile” that will include a badge appearing on the profile and which may also appear in the Local Pack. We’ve asked Google a number of questions about the new program and will update this post when the company responds. Below is a promotional screenshot captured by Tom Waddington, who told me the new upgraded profile is being promoted within the Google My Business dashboard. New upgraded Business Profile promotion from GMB dashboard Cost is $50 per month. The cost is $50 per month, subject to Google Guaranteed’s normal […]
SEOs are too accustomed to reacting to Google changes; especially Google algorithm updates. But what if you can build a site with content that you are confident won’t take a rankings hit after Google releases a new update. That is what most SEOs are trying to achieve. In my keynote during our virtual SMX Next last month, I covered the past 20 years of Google algorithm updates and what SEOs need to focus on in the future. I later hosted a panel with a few veteran SEOs to discuss Google algorithms, including some advice from these experts on how to build content that survives future algorithm updates. A high bar […]
Every weekend, my friends and I have online video calls to catch-up with each other. Sometimes it feels like certain people dominate the conversation and others don’t feel comfortable speaking up. These types of communication issues via remote conversations are actually normal. In fact, for remote teams communication with co-workers is a challenge that remote workers face daily. Additionally, according to HubSpot’s findings, non-HubSpot remote workers noted a lack of social connection (29%) and communicating with co-workers (29%) as the two biggest challenges they face being remote. When your team can’t be in the same space, communication needs to become more intentional. So, how do you do that? And how […]

Last month, the HubSpot app partner ecosystem passed a notable milestone in our platform journey: we officially welcomed the 500th app to our App Marketplace. Ad tracking is the most effective way to measure campaign performance. Whether through Google or Facebook, mobile or desktop, search or display, methods of ad tracking like UTM parameters are what advertisers use to uncover better, more profitable campaigns. What is ad tracking? Ad tracking refers to the process of using data to measure ad performance. Clicks, impressions, conversions, and more, can be measured in several ways, with URLs, cookies, and even invisible images called “pixels”: Though ad tracking is sometimes considered “creepy” because it involves certain levels of user behavior tracking, it’s certainly legal. However, it’s more highly regulated than it once was due to increasing concerns over user […]
Google announced Wednesday that it has decided to give webmasters, SEOs, developers and developers more time to prepare for the mobile-first indexing switchover. The deadline has been moved from September 2020 to March 2021. Previously. Google in early March, before all the lock-downs began across most of the world, announced the deadline for all sites to switch over to mobile-first indexing would be September 2020. At that time, Google said, “To simplify, we’ll be switching to mobile-first indexing for all websites starting September 2020.” Now. Now that we are still knee-deep in this pandemic, Google said, “We realize that in these uncertain times, it’s not always easy to focus on […]
