FTC issued guidance for social media influencers who endorse products. The goal is to educate influencers that they are obligated to disclose relationships with brands when endorsing them. When is an Endorsement Disclosure Required? The FTC announcement instructs that payment for an endorsement is not the only circumstance that requires a disclosure. These review sites not only promote their own products, a publisher is reporting that the fake sites are also saying bad things and giving poor reviews. There is a big issue going on in the recipe niche…again.  There have been multiple reports from recipe bloggers that they are losing their photos in Google search results. ADVERTISEMENT Twitter’s Jack Dorsey tweeted that Twitter will no longer accept political advertising. He shamed Facebook for allowing false claims in political ads and with this move it could be implied that it challenges other social networks. The new policy will be in force on November 22, 2019. A member of the search marketing community tweeted his surprise that Google ranked a paywalled web page in the featured snippets.  Google’s official description of featured snippets precludes content that cannot be clicked through to be read. But other documentation states that paywalled content is acceptable for Google Search as well as Google News.
