Default Search in Chrome Switched to Bing for Office 365 ProPlus users

Default Search in Chrome Switched to Bing for Office 365 ProPlus users

In a move that taps into the default effect, Microsoft’s Office 365 ProPlus (version 2002+) has coupled up with Bing to make Bing the default search engine for Google Chrome web browser for devices in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, United Kingdom, and the United States. Why would they do this? Microsoft Search comes with tie-ins where results include references to information from data sources across an organization. This will supplement Chrome search in a business context with information for locating SharePoint sites, OneDrive content, Teams, and Yammer conversations. Yelp SEO: How to Optimize Your Listings & Rank Higher via @AdamHeitzman

One of the reasons Yelp works so well is because it doesn’t appear to be a search engine on the surface. It seems completely controlled by reviews, right? While this is definitely true, if you see ads on a page and there is a search function available, you can bet that the website has an algorithm to help it rank different pages, and that algorithm isn’t just about which businesses have the most reviews (go ahead and take a look – it’s hard to find a rhyme to their rhythm of ranking). This is where being strategic in the way you optimize your Yelp page comes in handy. The Basics […]

Waterfall Charts: The Marketing Graph You Need to Hit Your Goals

As a marketer, having the right tools in place to gather useful data is imperative. Below, let’s review what a waterfall chart is, how to read one, and […]

Yes, it is.’ I don’t think they have reason to lie to us there. I don’t know what their motive to lie to us would be there. So, I just wish we’d go back, and look at our ranking factor studies, and our correlation studies, and get rid of the stuff that we know isn’t a ranking factor.”  As a software engineer turned […]

How to Get Celebrity Endorsements — Even if You’re Not a Huge Brand

How to Get Celebrity Endorsements — Even if You’re Not a Huge Brand

From a buyer’s perspective, customers tend to feel more obligated to make a purchase from someone they might trust, relate to, or idolize. That’s why celebrity endorsements are so effective. But, even though it’s a great way to grow your business, it can also get pricey and — in some cases — risky. These setbacks are especially tough for smaller businesses and start-ups. So how do you get […]

How Direct-to-Consumer Brands Use Post-Click Experiences to Generate New Customers & Sales (10 Examples)

How Direct-to-Consumer Brands Use Post-Click Experiences to Generate New Customers & Sales (10 Examples)

Direct-to-consumer brands cut out the middlemen. Not only do they create their product, but they don’t enlist the help of someone to sell it. They advertise and sell directly to the consumer. But this is a double-edged sword. Do-it-yourself brings advantages like total control of the product and messaging, and you save the resources needed to broker deals with middlemen like retailers. In the long run, it’s likely to bring a more profitable result. At the same time, the work of building an audience from scratch (instead of capitalizing on a retailer’s connections) is incredibly difficult. It’s long, expensive, and requires expert strategy. That’s why DTC brands have to make […]
