In the fall of 2018 our CEO had a simple yet head-exploding request of the JotForm marketing and growth teams: Produce 100,000 words of high-quality written content in a single month. All types of content would count toward the goal, including posts on our own blog, help guides, template descriptions, and guest posts and sponsored articles on other sites. In case you don’t think that sounds like a lot, 100,000 words is the length of a 400-page book. Produced in a single month. By a group of JotFormers who then numbered fewer than eight. Why would on Earth would he want us to do all that? My colleague and I […]
ADVERTISEMENT Instagram is dropping the IGTV app from its home screen, saying very few users have been clicking on it. Users are primarily accessing IGTV content through links from the main feed, as well as the Explore feed and directly from creators’ profiles. IGTV videos can still be accessed this way going forward. Instagram also has a dedicated IGTV app, which will still be available, but a report from TechCrunch reveals the app has failed to catch on with users. Although the beginning of a new year can be filled with excitement and positive change, it also can be challenging or mentally exhausting to work on a number of intense projects with high expectations. When this happens, you can run into one of the most dreaded mental conditions: burnout. Burnout is so common that the World Health Organization now classifies it as a legitimate health condition. Consider, for instance, what happens when I search for the term “Skiing”: I’m immediately shown images of skiers, as well as top stories related to skiing, and even a local Google Maps panel with nearby ski mountains. I’m even shown videos of skiers before I finally reach the first article regarding the topic of “skiing”. From a user perspective, this makes sense. Most people searching for “skiing” aren’t interested in reading a blog post about it — they’re interested in seeing it visually via YouTube, or finding nearby locations so they can ski themselves. In 2020, search is going to continue to evolve […]

Now that the Google January 2020 core update is mostly rolled out, we have asked several data providers to send us what they found with this Google search update. All of the data providers agree that this core update was a big one and impacted a large number of web sites. The facts. What we know from Google, as we previously reported, is that the January 2020 core update started to roll out around 12:00 PM ET on Monday, January 13th.
