Snapchat Will Now Enable Developers to Integrate Snapchat Stories into Their Apps via Snap Kit

After announcing its coming changes to its Snap Kit developer platform back in June, Snapchat has this week officially announced that developers can now integrate Snapchat Stories into their apps, facilitating more immersive, engaging content experiences, and boosting exposure for Snap content. The new Snapchat Stories integration will enable app developers to connect their systems to Snapchat. For example, if you’re using music app Triller, you’ll now be able to share your activity in the Triller app to your Snapchat Story, providing expanded opportunity for engagement around your usage. Triller is one of the initial partners for the new Snap Stories Kit – in addition to Triller, users of Squad, dating app […]

Houseparty Offers Reward for Evidence of Smear Campaign Against the App

Like all social video apps, Houseparty is seeing a lot more attention amid the COVID-19 lockdowns, with users turning to real-time video tools to connect, in replacement of their regular social interactions. In fact, Houseparty may be benefiting the most of all the social video apps. According to The Financial Times, the app was downloaded 2 million times last week, compared to around 130,000 in the same week a month ago. As per App Annie data, Houseparty currently ranks first in the App Store in 17 countries, and it’s continuing to gain traction as people look for options to stay in touch – without actually being within touching distance. Really, […]

Twitter Provides a Month of Daily Tweet Prompts for Brands

Not sure what to tweet about, or what your brand should share on Twitter? One of the key elements of an effective social media marketing strategy is consistency, but in order to remain consistent, you have to keep coming up with new things to share, content and ideas that are relevant to your audience, that align with their interests, and which also help to further your branding efforts. And that can be tough, especially if you’re not overly familiar with a platform and the nuances of how its users communicate. To help with this, Twitter has this week published a listing of 20 tweet prompts to get you thinking about […]

Twitter Outlines Key Dates of Note in April to Assist With Strategic Planning

Twitter Outlines Key Dates of Note in April to Assist With Strategic Planning

What a difference a month can make. Each month, Twitter publishes a listing of key dates and events of note for month ahead, which includes all the major sporting events and industry conferences, along with holidays and seasonal celebrations, in order to help digital marketers map out their strategies and event tie-in campaigns. But this month, it’s looking pretty slim. Gone are the NBA Playoffs, the Master’s tournament, along with the Coachella Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival (now going digital at a later date) and the Whitehouse Correspondent’s Dinner. But that said, there is still a range of events being held in April that are worthy of note, and are […]

The Ultimate Guide to Pinterest Marketing

The Ultimate Guide to Pinterest Marketing

When I open up Pinterest, I’m in trouble. That’s because I know I could potentially sit there for hours on end browsing pictures and videos beautiful decor for my apartment, fun new workouts to try, outfits I want to buy, and much more. In the past, I’ve purchased items directly from Pinterest. I’ve also pinned content to my boards so I can refer to them in the future, use them as inspiration, or share them with my friends. Marketers target Pinterest users by sharing content that’s too irresistible for us to pass up. And with over 250 million people on Pinterest, why wouldn’t marketers want to be on the platform? […]

Google updates its ads policy for inappropriate content to include ‘public health emergency’

Google updates its ads policy for inappropriate content to include ‘public health emergency’

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Google Ads has updated its Inappropriate content policy. The updates take aim at keywords around sensitive events, price gouging and more. The update, released Tuesday and effective immediately, does not specifically mention coronavirus, but the change is clearly aimed at preventing advertisers from trying to capitalize on the outbreak. Google banned ads for face masks earlier this month. Why we care. Digital platforms have struggled to stay ahead of misinformation and fraudulent claims as well as price gauging by advertisers trying to take advantage of the coronavirus crisis. This policy update may appear subtle, but it gives Google a clearer path to take action against bad […]
