Facebook Begins Registering News Pages in Europe Ahead of Broader Rollout of News Section

In what may be a precursor to Facebook undertaking a wider rollout of its new, dedicated News tab, The Social Network has this week put out the call for news publishers in Europe to register their Facebook Pages in order to qualify for specific publisher benefits. Over on the Facebook for Media blog, Facebook has issued call-outs for publishers in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. As per Facebook: “Publishers can apply to have their Pages registered. Google is opening up more inventory to standard Shopping campaigns. Product Shopping and Showcase Shopping ads will be eligible to show on Gmail — as well as YouTube and Discover feed — starting the week of March 4 when those campaigns are opted into the Display Network, Google announced Thursday.
