DuckDuckGo has other ideas for Google’s EU search choice screen

Even though it’s one of the options, DuckDuckGo is not happy with Google’s proposed search choice screen for Android users in the EU and has released a proposal of its own. It boils down to giving users more search engine choices and more details about the selection process. DuckDuckGo’s proposed search engine selection screen also includes an introduction screen to provide users with more information regarding their decision. Source: DuckDuckGo. The introductory screen. Google’s proposed design combines details and choices on one screen (as seen above). DuckDuckGo’s proposed initial screen informs users that they can change their default search engine later. DuckDuckGo’s version also tells users that “search engines vary […]

Is Snapchat Discover Right for Your Brand?

Is Snapchat Discover Right for Your Brand?

When you think of Snapchat, what do you think of? Personally, I think of a single thing: “It’s crazy how much marketing opportunity there is on this app.” Now, you may be thinking, “There’s no way,” or “Which one is Snapchat, again?” (if you need a reminder, it’s the yellow one with the videos and ghost logo). Snapchat is an undeniably popular social media app, with over 200 million millennials and Gen Z users opening the app every single day. Additionally, Snapchatter’s use Snapchat’s Discover feature for their news, to catch up on shows, or to see new sponsored posts from their favorite influencers. Of these users, 38% of them […]

Google Search Console launches new removals tool

Google Search Console launches new removals tool

Google has launched a new removals tool within Google Search Console. This tool does three things (1) lets you temporarily hide URLs from showing in Google search, (2) show you which content is not in Google because it is “outdated content” and (3) shows you which of your URLs were filtered by Google’s SafeSearch adult filter. How to access the tool. You can access the tool within Google Search Console, under the “Index” menu, labeled as “Removals.” You can also go to https://search.google.com/search-console/removals to access the tool and then select a property. Temporarily remove URLs. Google allows you to remove URLs from showing in Google search quickly via Google Search […]

Influencer Marketing on a Tight Budget: Incentives to Offer Beyond a Big Payout

Influencer Marketing on a Tight Budget: Incentives to Offer Beyond a Big Payout

Many organizations want to work with influencers to gain attention and drive results, but few have the budget to make it happen. When working with a non-existent or limited budget, you need to identify what your company can uniquely offer to influencers instead of always paying for their support. The goal here isn’t to take advantage of influencers, as I’m a big proponent of reasonably paying them for the value they’re able to provide. Instead, my advice is to find a mix of approaches for incentivizing influencers so that these partnerships don’t require a budget, or are less costly. Recently, for example, the Clorox Company set up an advisory board comprised […]

The Top 10 Facebook Stats for 2020 [Infographic]

While other social platforms rise and fall, Facebook, seemingly despite various controversies, has continued to add more daily and monthly active users as time goes on – and The Social Network shows no sign of any significant slow-down on the immediate horizon. Of course, that’s not the complete picture. While Facebook has continued to add more users in developing markets, some have suggested that the time people spend on Facebook, on average, has been in decline in recent years. Facebook’s last official update on time spent in its apps came in 2016, when it reported that users were spending 50 minutes per day using Facebook, Instagram and/or Messenger – though that’s not Facebook-specific. The […]

Facebook Launches Previews of Upcoming Super Bowl Ad

Facebook Launches Previews of Upcoming Super Bowl Ad

Last December, Facebook revealed that it had booked a slot to run its first ever Super Bowl ad in 2020, which would focus on the connective benefits of Facebook groups. And this week, in the lead-up to the event, Facebook has released a series of previews for its Super Bowl ads, which will feature comedian Chris Rock, and look set to focus on niche communities, and how Facebook brings them together. Though the full concept remains a little unclear – for example, there’s a scene with Chris Rock launching a rocket with a group of kids.
