This is interesting – Facebook is reportedly testing a new ‘Suggested’ option within its post scheduling options for Pages which would enable Page admins to reach their audiences when they’re most active on the platform. As you can see in this image, posted by Facebook Page admin @GIFChaseH (and shared by social media expert Matt Navarra), the new scheduling screen includes a ‘Suggested’ option which provides a recommendation of when you should post to maximize engagement. The explanation below the marker reads: “Schedule your post based on when your fans were most active last week” Similar functionality is available in various social media management tools, but this variation, using Facebook’s own, […]

#SMTLive Recap: Building a Social Media Style Guide

#SMTLive Recap: Building a Social Media Style Guide

I would love to know the statistics of how many marketers actually use a social media style guide day-to-day. In my opinion, it seems like everyone knows the purpose of a style guide, but I’m not convinced that the majority of marketers recognize the value and immense support this type of document will offer their brand — because if that were the case, everyone would make this a top priority. This is not to say that many haven’t done the preliminary audience research to build a social strategy, but your social strategy will always be lacking context (especially for future employees) without a style guide. Note: Your social strategy and content plan […]

Google’s Removing Support for Third-Party Tracking Pixels on YouTube in Favor of Ads Data Hub

As explained by Google: “Advertisers use different tools to understand the effectiveness of their ad campaigns. One type, called pixels, has played an important role across the web for over a decade, but was built for a world of single screens, not for the ways many people watch YouTube today. While more than 70% of time spent watching YouTube globally occurs on mobile devices, pixels […]

Twitter Tests Emoji “Reactions” for Direct Messages

Twitter Tests Emoji “Reactions” for Direct Messages

Twitter’s looking to make it easier and faster to respond to a direct message by testing out emoji reactions which you would be able to attach to specific message. As you can see in this example, spotted by reverse engineering pro Jane Manchun Wong, the option would enable users to attach one of seven quick emoji responses to any given message in a stream. It’s similar to the functionality that Facebook added to Messenger back in 2017, which enables users to allocate an emoji response to each specific message. And given Twitter’s renewed focus on direct messaging of late, it makes sense for the platform to be looking at new […]
