Fresh from rolling out its new reactions for group boards, Pinterest is now testing a whole other style of quick emoji response characters, this time for videos posted on the platform. As you can see here, this new version of reactions emojis – spotted by reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong within the back-end code of the Pinterest app – is more cartoonish and different to regular emoji characters. They also vary significantly from the emoji reactions Pinterest rolled out for group boards late last month. But they do look a little more stylistic, and you can imagine them being a winner on Pinterest, giving users another way to respond to […]
After first announcing that it was developing its own events tool in November last year, LinkedIn has now officially launched the option, providing the capacity for members to create and organize event pages, and facilitate in-person meet-ups via the professional social network. As you can see from the video, LinkedIn users will now be able to create their own event pages via the Community panel to the left side of the News Feed in the mobile app. As explained by LinkedIn: “You need to provide a description, a date and time, a venue, and then invite your connections using filters such as location, company, industry, and school. Looking for ways to give your holidays digital marketing campaigns a boost? According to Facebook, one option to consider is to add Stories placement to your Feed campaigns, as opposed to using each element – Stories and News Feed – independently, and for entirely separate campaigns. As per Facebook: “A recent multi-cell test in EMEA found that adding stories to feed campaigns by using placement optimization resulted in a 21% increase in brand lift for the campaigns analyzed. This indicates that stories alongside feed campaigns can help to drive increased efficiency.” Indeed, along with that increase in brand interaction, Facebook also found that Stories placement lead to a 35% increase in brand […]
Instagram has improved its options to help users better manage which third-party apps can access their Instagram account information, and what specific data they can get. After connecting your account to a third-party service, you may grant them access to some of your profile information, such as your username and photos. Starting today, we’re making it easier for people to manage all of the third-party services they connect to […]
Twitter has once again sought to clarify its rules around tweets from high profile users which technically violate its rules, but which it chooses to leave active in the public interest. Twitter published a similar clarification back in June, after repeated calls for it to take action against tweets from US President Donald Trump. Twitter has not taken action against Trump’s, or any other leaders’ tweets, but it has been thinking over how it can apply its rule exceptions in a more fair and balanced way. As per Twitter: “When it comes to the actions of world leaders on Twitter, we recognize that this is largely new ground and unprecedented. […]
