Pinterest has announced that it’s updated its Shopify app, adding a new option that will enable Shopify merchants to quickly and easily feed their entire product catalog directly into shoppable Pins. As explained by Pinterest: “The app automatically creates a connection between the individual store and Pinterest, so the merchant doesn’t need to edit code or add development resources, making it seamless for businesses of all sizes. Facebook has this week outlined an update to its Free Basics internet connection initiative, through which the company is working to connect the other 50% of the global population that, right now, cannot access the web. The new project is called Discover, a process which enables users to access an expanded range of internet services via the platform, as opposed to the previously limited subset of web tools and sites made available via the first iteration of the Free Basics offering. After Facebook announced its virtual graduation event for the class of 2020 last week, YouTube has now countered with its own celebration, which won’t be held on the same weekend as Facebook’s online celebration, but will certainly rival The Social Network in regards to star power. Google has launched a new tool which will enable podcasters that have their podcasts available via Google Podcasts to glean more insights into their audience behaviors in order to recognize relevant trends and shifts, and help maximize podcast performance.
