In-person, live events and conferences can be a key marketing channel to achieve business objectives and generate leads, especially for B2B organizations and tech companies. Events give you the opportunity to connect and build engaged communities, while also potentially turning prospects into clients. In just a few hours, hundreds, or even thousands of people gather in the same space to have an experience provided to them that will educate, and elevate, your brand experience. And with the right strategy, you can maximize your event results. A key consideration for all modern event marketers is video, with an abundance of digital tools now available to better showcase and share your event […]
Nobody takes rejection well, especially when there’s money on the line. Lost conversions can be a nuisance, and no website wants to lose prospective customers. However, retargeting – or remarketing as it’s sometimes known – can be a great way to potentially engage with visitors, and get them to return to your pages. Retargeting refers to a specific form of online advertising that’s fine-tuned to target visitors who have navigated away from the website in question at a certain point. This method of marketing relies on cookies to help to learn about their visitors and their behavior on site But just how successful is retargeting, really? In this post, we’ll […]
Once again, another year has flown by and it’s hard to believe that we’re only a few weeks away from the holidays. Everyone who has participated in these chats over the years has provided valuable insights into unique social media strategies, tips and tricks that the Social Media Today community is […]

Take large amounts of data. Refine it. Analyze it. Then make decisions based off the resulting information. That, in a nutshell, is business intelligence, or BI. BI is not a single tool, but a variety of resources, from hardware to software, and anything that provides data, including the treasure trove available from your social media channels. Business intelligence software organizes the data, and users create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. As a term, BI now includes advanced and augmented analytics, and while traditional BI focuses on what happened in the past and what’s happening in the present, business analytics (BA) identifies current trends in order to predict future trends. Essentially, […]

Cisco predicts that by 2022, videos will constitute 82% of all internet traffic. Further, YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world. If you’re rocking a YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers, then you’re doing it right with audience building – however, as a content creator, YouTube isn’t the best for monetization. Making a decent income off YouTube alone is challenging, while YouTube creators often feel compelled to consistently create more content, and suffer from burn out as a result. Essentially, there’s a major flaw in trying to create your content business solely on YouTube: a lack of control. As such, It’s important to build an asset alongside your channel […]
Reddit has this week provided an overview of its key performance stats and milestones for 2019 as part of its year in review – and there are some very interesting insights included within the various data points. Reddit’s main, broader usage points of note for the year are: 430 million monthly active users (+30% YoY increase) 199 million posts 1.7 billion comments 32 billion upvotes That top number is the most significant – back in April 2018, Reddit reported having 330 million monthly active users, its last official update on this front. It’s now added another 100 million, which means that Reddit now has significantly more users than Twitter (330m as of April 2019), Pinterest […]
Instagram has announced a new process which will require users to enter their date of birth when signing up for a new account on the platform. As explained by Instagram “Starting today, we will be asking for your date of birth when creating an account on Instagram. According to our Terms of Use, you must be at least 13 years old to have an account in most countries. Asking for this information will help prevent underage people from joining Instagram, help us keep young people safer and enable more age-appropriate experiences overall.” Up till now, Instagram has had no such checks in place, which has lead to many people under […]
“Let me guess,” I hear you say. “TikTok tops the list?” Actually, it doesn’t, but it’s right up there. Apple has this week released its listings of the most downloaded apps for 2019, based on App Store activity over the past eleven and a bit months. And while there are separate lists for paid apps, games, and iPad apps, the most important one is probably the overall listing of most popular free apps – which is: YouTube Instagram Snapchat TikTok Messenger Gmail Netflix Facebook Google Maps Amazon Most of the app ranking data throughout the year has focused on the rise of TikTok, which, as you can see, comes in at fourth […]
