Snap says that the option will provide more capacity for advertisers to utilize their existing video assets, rather than having to cut them down to six seconds, which may provide more opportunity for cross-promotion and engagement. New Report Looks at the Rise of Virtual Influencers on Instagram

New Report Looks at the Rise of Virtual Influencers on Instagram

Social media was created to facilitate human connection, to amplify our interactive capability by providing new ways for us to share our lives and experiences, and relate to others around the same. Social media gurus have been preaching along these lines for years – in order to succeed on social platforms, you need to ‘be more human’, you need to ‘humanize your brand’, ‘it’s human connection that matters’. And while there are many examples of such approaches leading to greater success for brands online, there is another, rising trend which largely goes against this, and brings into question the very future of the form. That trend is the rising popularity […]

But an effective email marketing strategy in the 2000s may not work in 2019 anymore. Chances are, direct sales offers sent to inboxes will be marked as spam, and forever left unopened. In March 2019, spam messages accounted for 56% of global email traffic. The challenge, then, is to develop email campaigns that are as appealing and informative as other marketing tools which are more heavily consumed in this age of social media and apps. Times have changed, and so have email marketing trends – and […]

Why the Future of Influencer Marketing will be Organic Influencers

Why the Future of Influencer Marketing will be Organic Influencers

Influence has long been at the core of marketing – seeking it, amassing it, then effectively wielding it to achieve your goals. It’s also, uncoincidentally, what gave rise to the influencer marketing industry. But after riding high on the growing ubiquity of social platforms and the democratization of celebrity over the past decade, it seems influencer marketing – in the traditional sense – is in the midst of an irreversible fail from grace. As Casey Ferrell, Vice President and Head of U.S. Monitor (owned by Kantar) said in a recent Media Post interview: “We are at peak influencer, and it’s beginning to run its course” And if you’ve been paying attention […]

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was heavily praised last month when he announced, in no uncertain terms, that Twitter would ban all political advertising on its platform. We’ve made the decision to stop all political advertising on Twitter globally. We believe political message reach should be earned, not bought. Why? A few reasons…???? — jack ???????????? (@jack) October 30, 2019 This followed a speech from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in which he defended his platform’s decision not to subject political ads to fact-checking, under the guise of ‘voice and free expression‘ – i.e. letting the people decide what’s true and what’s not from political candidates. By comparison, Dorsey’s stance was a welcome […]
